If you have already invested in an e-mail system, whether it
is a few
mailboxes or thousands, there are still security risks to consider. Trying to
filter out the barrage of spam, porn and viruses can be time consuming and a
distraction from core projects.
A virus infection can cost a significant amount of time and money. If an
infected e-mail gets through your defences it can quickly spread across the
organisation, giving you a significant cleanup job. Worse still, many
e-mail
viruses start replicating using the hosts e-mail client. Suddenly, you are
infecting customers and suppliers as the virus works through address books.
Viruses have been known to randomly attach files from the hosts hard disk or
network share to send them on.
How We Help
Active e-Gateway provides advanced spam, porn and virus filtering for your network.
Your incoming e-mail is routed to our servers first allowing us to scan the
message and its attachments (even hidden ones) for viruses. We also assess
whether the message is 'spam' using SpamAssassin, an industry-supported filter
that performs a series of tests to 'score' the message for spam content.
Messages that clear these tests are immediately forwarded to your current
e-mail server and users receive their e-mail as normal. Virus infected messages
are deleted and messages identified as spam are stored for review then deleted
after a pre-determined period.

There is an additional one-off set-up fee of £56 for us to liaise with your
ISP and configure DNS records. An example six-mailbox account would be priced
monthly thus: £5.00 + (6 x £2.25) = £18.50 per month. For a larger
solution with a greater number of mailboxes, please contact us for a customised
proposal to meet the demands of your e-mail usage. There is a minimum
contract period of 12 months and prices quoted are subject to VAT. E&OE.
