Code of Ethics

A statement about the policy which Active Technology adheres to regarding ethical principle and professional conduct of the company and its staff.

Pre-sales

• You are provided with the best and most complete information possible
• You will have direct access to a single point of contact
• You may see installations and talk with existing clients
• You can visit our premises and workshop

Sales

• Your technical consultant has a minimum of 5 years product training
• You will not be 'sold to' and all contact is based on a consultative approach
• Your technical consultant is not motivated by sales commissions
• No pressure sales tactics are employed
• You are provided with options - the choice is yours
• No one will visit you without invitation
• A quotation or proposal is valid for 28 days for you to make a decision

Prices

• The price, unless agreed otherwise, is in writing and fixed from the outset
• The price includes everything stated on your quotation or proposal
• There will be no hidden extras

Value for Money

• We advise that replacement is better value than repair or patch over the long term (this applies to both software and hardware)
• You get what you pay for
• Your loyalty to Active is rewarded over time with access to our top technicians, extended consultation, ad hoc discounts

Payment

• You only pay 40% until what you have chosen is installed and complete, when you pay the balance of 60%
• Ad hoc labour and/or parts is paid for immediately unless you've signed account terms & conditions and enjoy 30 days credit

Materials

• The hardware and software offered are matched for your particular requirements at the outset with the future in mind
• All parts used are chosen for being as environmentally friendly as possible either in use or as waste
• All parts used are chosen for being as recyclable as possible (we recommend recycling to conserve our planet's resources)

Quality

• We only use the best materials we can buy
• We are affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce and have won many awards for our high standard of quality

Aesthetics

• Our products are designed to meet the fine line BETWEEN value for money and performance & functionality

Performance

• Our recommendation is the option with longevity and which will perform best to make your business IT as efficient as possible

Lead Times

• A firm date is agreed with you as soon as your work is ready to install
• We aim to complete everything within all specified time frames set out in our
  • fixed price quotations or proposals
  • documentation for ad hoc labour (in-house and on-site)
  • documentation for response times (contractual and emergency call-out)

Installation

• You are kept in touch and informed well in advance
• Everything is done in our workshop that can be done to reduce work time and disruption on your site
• Our engineers are absolutely trustworthy to be on your premises and in your business
• We will not send your installer to start another job before he finishes your work
• Our engineers are tidy throughout and clear up when they finish

Waste

• We are licensed carriers of waste
• All old material removed is disposed of by us in officially designated sites or recycled where possible

After-sales Service

• We have a dedicated service department
• We take full responsibility for any issues arising from defective goods or faulty workmanship and we will work diligently with speed to rectify the situation.
• You have an opportunity to build a tailored maintenance contract for the up-keep of your product or solution

Data Storage & Privacy

• We are licensed under the Data Protection Act
• Your name is not passed onto any other organisation without your consent
• You can choose to receive relative future information from us, or not

Personnel

• All persons connected with the company are aware that their job depends upon honesty and trustworthiness
• We reward the individual employee extra, if we receive citation from you
• The average time an employee has been with the company is 6 years
• All personnel are UK citizens and UK tax compliant
